Shannon Dikkema, BSc Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, Relational Somatic Psychotherapy

Shannon (she/her) is passionate about helping people to re-gain resiliency (fluidity, lack of stuck-ness) after stressors or trauma.  She offers high-quality presence, care and expertise to clients who want to experience more ease, movement and joy, less pain, anxiety and symptoms of attachment or event trauma. She has personally experienced so much benefit from somatic psychotherapy herself, and with over 20 years of offering group therapeutic and educational sessions, and 5 years of offering individual counselling session she is confident in her skill set and ability to provide excellent care and results.

She is gratefully living and working on un-ceded Indigenous lands in the Cowichan Valley with her husband and daughter.  Shannon is actively working and living to in an anti-oppression, anti-racist framework and is constantly engaged with learning, reflecting and growing more in all areas of her life and profession.

Relational Somatic Psychotherapy is a science backed modality that works to repair nervous systems and brains after major life events (trauma). This modality is very effective for attachment (family of origin) trauma and event (medical, car accident or other shocks to the system) trauma.RSP is also great for folks who want simply to learn or deepen their connection to the wisdom of their bodies, heal from injuries and live life in more connection to their authentic truth. This is an excellent modality for any boundary and relational work as well.

To ask a question, book a free 20 minute consultation, or book a session for online or in-person work, or to access info about online or in-person courses being offering in the Fall of 2021 and beyond, contact Shannon.

Denae Field

Denae is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Her passion is helping people find their own strengths, and identify their resilience and abilities.

As a mother of two and a person who has worked her whole career keeping children safe and supported, she thrives on helping children understand their emotions, listen to their bodies and identify what they need. She does this through providing one on one therapy to children in combination with parenting support. She works with children who are experiencing behavioural issues, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, loss from parental separation and divorce or death and bullying.

She also provides individual counselling to youth and adults who are feeling overwhelmed and looking for guidance and support through compassionate care. She supports those experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, childhood trauma or negative experiences, work stress, grief and loss and separation and divorce.

She weaves pieces of Dialectical Behaviour therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness into her practice. She provides a safe, compassionate space for people to come and feel heard and hopes to lead them to live their best possible life.
