The Matraea Midwives
What are Midwives?
Registered Midwives in BC are primary maternity care providers who look after healthy pregnant women and their newborn babies. Midwifery care is covered by your Care Card. Midwives listen, observe, educate, guide and care. They are able to order and interpret tests and discuss results. They screen for physical, psychological, emotional and social health. They attend women during labour, and birth: normal and complicated. Midwives visit you at your home after your baby is born. They help with breastfeeding and adjusting to life with a new baby.
Midwives work together and with obstetricians, pediatricians, family physicians and nurses. They offer evidence-based, woman-centred maternity and newborn care, and are an established part of the BC health care system. In a nutshell, midwives are experts in healthy pregnancy and birth.
Matraea has three different practice groups working collaboratively to provide care to more than 50% of the women giving birth in the Valley. Contact the Centre for more information or to book an appointment today.

Denise D’Fantis | Cowichan Valley Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient system of holistic medicine originating in China thousands of years ago. As a registered Acupuncturist, I strive to provide my patients with simple and effective treatments for a variety of ailments. Christy Greenwood |Healing Artist
BodyMind Sessions • Massage Therapy • Transformational Bodywork •'Re-wilding From Within' Dance Journeys // In Person & Online
I invite you to connect with the wisdom held within your body while you explore your growth edges in a grounded way. The body's innate healing system is beyond impressive. Healing happens naturally when all parts and systems of the body interact with each other effectively. When communication within the bodymind system is restored, emotions & experiences can be processed which allows space to naturally open up for integration, inspiration, vitality and new healthy awareness.
Our bodies have so much to share with us about who we are. Decoding these messages is a truly fascinating journey as we process, digest and release the emotional & ancestral history that is stored within our cells. Through this awakening process, we create space for what is next on our evolutionary journey.
I have been offering sessions with meditative & compassionate presence for 19 years. I am certified to offer massage therapy, BodyTalk, Reiki, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Kundalini Dance, Hatha Yoga & Hot LaStone Therapy. My signature 'medicine sessions' include a combination of offerings customized to your unique health and life situation.

I love saving people money on their taxes! I take educating and helping people prepare for, sort and file their personal taxes very seriously. I welcome the challenge of multiple years and look forward to applying my knowledge to each clients individual tax needs.
I began by working as a receptionist in a prospering Vancouver accounting firm, and quickly moved through the ranks, until I found how much I enjoy the personal tax side of things.
